Our fixed price investigation services will help you to deal with disciplinary and grievance issues swiftly and in compliance with the ACAS Code of Practice.

 

Even with the best will in the world and the most harmonious work force possible, things can go wrong. Incidents happen and it becomes necessary to invoke the disciplinary or grievance procedure to manage the situation. On most occasions, it will be possible to manage it in-house, but there will be times when it is necessary to bring in an external person to conduct an independent and neutral investigation, for example in cases of potential gross misconduct when the outcome may be dismissal or where the nature of the incident means that it is difficult within a smaller company with limited resources, to find an appropriate internal person to conduct the investigation. This is where we can assist.

Razor understands that a key concern of senior managers/business-owners when bringing in an external investigator is 'how much is this going to cost?'. Our fixed price investigation packages have been designed to remove this concern and allow you to concentrate on resolving the issue and getting on with running your business/department.

By appointing us as your independent investigator we will help you to establish the, providing you with a crystal-clear picture of the situation you are tackling, allowing you to make a fully informed (and legally compliant) decision about how next to proceed.
When we conduct an independent workplace investigation, we will not draw the conclusions we think you want to hear, because that approach is not beneficial to you or your business. The outcome of a robust, independent workplace investigation should be focused on giving you clarity on what took place so that you are fully aware of the situation and what to do next.

We have two transparently priced fixed investigation packages; one for more basic investigations involving a smaller number of people and a second package for more complex issues, which may involve a greater number of people and the details for each of these is given below.

Standard Investigations:

Our standard investigation package includes:

​

• Initial call or meeting with you, the client, to establish the matter to be investigated and actions taken thus far

• Review of initial paperwork and documents

• Interviews (face-to-face and/or telephone where appropriate) ~ up to 5 people

• Preparation of individual transcripts and sign-off 

At the conclusion of an investigation, we provide an exceptionally thorough and detailed investigation outcome report which includes: terms of reference, details of the complainant, details of the respondent, a summary of the investigation process, detailed breakdown of the evidence collected and any evidence not collected, breakdown of people interviewed as part of the investigation process, summary of the matters under investigation and the detailed responses from the investigating officer concerning their findings, any mitigating factors established as part of the investigation, conclusions and the investigating officers recommendations.
 

Attendance at meetings/hearings to present findings as necessary.
 

Investigations conducted on site or remotely at the client’s preference.

Fixed package fee of - £2,850* plus VAT
 

Complex Investigations:

Our complex investigation package includes:

​

• Initial call or meeting with you, the client, to establish the matter to be investigated and actions taken thus far

• Review of initial paperwork and documents

• Interviews (face-to-face and/or telephone where appropriate) ~ up to 15 people

• Preparation of individual transcripts and sign-off

At the conclusion of an investigation, we provide an exceptionally thorough and detailed investigation outcome report which includes: terms of reference, details of the complainant, details of the respondent, a summary of the investigation process, detailed breakdown of the evidence collected and any evidence not collected, breakdown of people interviewed as part of the investigation process, summary of the matters under investigation and the detailed responses from the investigating officer concerning their findings, any mitigating factors established as part of the investigation, conclusions and the investigating officers recommendations.

Fixed package fee of - £4,200* plus VAT

*Services carried out on site within a 75-mile radius of our office are do not incur additional mileage costs. Above a 75-mile radius will incur costs at current HMRC rates. Clients will be notified where this is applicable.

Please note - 50% of the total cost will be payable prior to the commencement of the investigation and the remainder will become payable upon completion.

Razor will always use best endeavours to conduct and complete investigations within agreed timescales. However, where it is necessary to meet with multiple people during the investigation, the process can be constrained by their availability. We do ask that the client makes reasonable attempts to ensure all staff who are to be included in the investigation are all available within similar time windows. Where delays are likely to occur because of this, we will discuss this with the client and keep them fully informed of our progress.
